Depression and Anxiety

Depression

Depression, commonly known as depressive disorder, is a severe medical condition that adversely affects mood, behavior, and cognition. Fortunately, depression is treatable. Depression is usually known to induce sad feelings and diminish interest in previously enjoyed activities, resulting in significant physical and emotional challenges directly affecting our daily functions. This disorder can manifest at any stage. Usually, it is prominent in late adolescence to early adulthood.

Anxiety

Anxiety is a typical response to stress where mild levels are considered advantageous as it can relay alert mechanisms during situations of threat and readiness. But at a high level, it can become a serious concern. It is characterized by apprehensive cognition, tension, and physiological alterations, which can elevate blood pressure. Persistent intrusive worries or thoughts are usually experienced by those who are afflicted by anxiety disorders. These conditions can result in perspiration, dizziness, tremors, or rapid heart rate.
