Neurosurgery and Neurophysiology

Neurosurgery

Neurosurgery, commonly known as brain or neurological surgery, involves the management of the brain, spinal cord, spine, and other peripheral nerve conditions through surgery. It includes general neurosurgery to address trauma and emergencies and specialized fields like oncologic, pediatric, and spinal neurosurgery. This covers all disorders throughout the nervous system.

Neurophysiology

Neurophysiology, a specialized branch of health sciences, mainly focuses on quantifying and evaluating the functionality of the nervous system in contrast to the anatomy of the nervous system. Neurophysiology serves as a tool for surgeons with the ability to discern active neural tissue from others in real-time. It also enables ongoing monitoring of pertinent somatic nervous structures' functioning and overall performance.
