Abstract
During this session, a presentation of the full differential diagnosis of the older adult from a physical therapy perspective in acute and outpatient settings. A discussion of the normal changes of sensory and musculoskeletal systems that accompany old age will lay the foundation for the conversation. Screening of urgent medical and non-vestibular causes common to the older adult will be examined. In the older adult presentations (signs, symptoms, clinical findings) of positional dizziness, vestibular causes of dizziness, cervical causes of dizziness are outlined. Finally, the medical and therapeutic treatment directions are suggested for each of the most common conditions.
