Geil Han Astorga is a PhD candidate in the Communication, New Media & Cultural Studies program at McMaster University. She obtained her Master of Health Science in Translational Research from the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Combining her background in strategic communications, marketing, and translational research, Geil’s research interests focus on the affordances of multimedia to co-design interventions, improve health outcomes, and address health inequities. She has worked on various research projects in the fields of pediatric rehabilitation, public health, and adaptive platform trials of treatments.
