Biography

Pravin Yeapuri is a post-doctoral research associate in Dr. Howard Gendelman’s lab at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Dept. of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience. His research evaluates the role of different T cell subsets in neurodegenerative disease and developing T regulatory cell-based therapies for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Additionally, he is developing humanized, CRISPR-based knock-in mouse models for Alzheimer’s disease. These models not only replicate the clinical progression of the disease but also help evaluate the role of HIV-induced neuroinflammation in Alzheimer’s disease pathobiology.
