Biography
The main topics of my research activities is devoted to the quantitative study of the regional and age (from the period of intro-uterine development till 100 years) peculiarities of the human brain metabolism by in vivo 1Н MRS. On the basis of age and regional dependences of metabolism in the normal brain during its formation, maturation and ageing the quantitative criteria of an estimation of pathological changes in the central nervous system caused by the intracranial and extracranial tumors, stroke, and various neurodegenerative disorders are formulated. I try to unite MRI methods (conventional MRI, MRS, DTI and fMRI) for quantitative investigation of the nature of physiological processes in the human brain and to search for connections between structure, functions and metabolism of the brain in the norm and under pathologies.
